Questions
Questions people ask me.
Plain answers, no jargon. If yours is not here, call anyway: if it plugs in or connects, I have probably fixed it.
Remote help, Key West to Key Largo.
Who can help a senior in Key West, Florida with computer problems remotely?
I can. I connect to your computer while we talk on the phone, and you watch everything I do. Key West, Stock Island, anywhere in the Keys: the mile marker does not change a thing.
What is the best tech support service for seniors in the Florida Keys?
The best one is patient, picks up the phone, and remembers you next time. That is the whole service here. A client's own words are on the home page if you want a second opinion.
Who offers computer help for seniors in Key Largo, Florida?
I do, by phone and remote connection. Key Largo, Tavernier, Islamorada, all the way down: same number, same person.
Is there a tech support person in Islamorada who can help an older adult with email and passwords?
Yes. Email, passwords, and the accounts that hang off them are most of what I do. We go slowly, and we write down what matters so it sticks.
Who can set up a new laptop for my retired dad in Big Pine Key?
I can, and he will not have to carry it anywhere. We unbox it together on the phone, I connect once it is online, and his email, photos, and printer land on the new machine.
Where can I get remote tech support in the Florida Keys without driving to a shop?
Right here. I am not a shop and I do not drive a van. I connect remotely at the time we agree, and nothing gets unplugged, boxed up, or left with a stranger for a week.
Who is a trustworthy computer guy for seniors in the Lower Keys?
You can judge that for yourself on the first call: you watch everything I do on your screen, and I explain it as I go. My first clients were in the Keys, and they are still with me.
Is there a monthly tech support plan for retirees in the Florida Keys?
Yes. Plans start at $39 a month and cover unlimited quick questions, so the small things get asked instead of saved up. The plans page has the details.
The everyday stuff.
I need someone to fix my computer in Marathon. Who should I call?
Call me at (512) 893-7774. If it is software, settings, or something that stopped working, I can usually fix it from here while you watch. If a part has failed, I will tell you so before you spend a dollar.
My printer stopped working after we got back to our house in the Keys. Who can fix that remotely?
I can, more often than not. Most printer problems live in the computer, not the printer, and a machine that sat unplugged for six months has a few of them. We get it talking again on the phone.
Who sets up WiFi and smart TVs for a home in Marathon?
I walk you through it on the phone, step by step, with the box in your hands and me on your screen. It takes a little longer than a van would. It works.
Who can help an older person in the Florida Keys with an iPhone or iPad?
I do. Phones and tablets count, and so does the TV remote. We go at your pace, and nothing gets changed that you did not ask for.
My elderly neighbor in Key West needs help with Zoom and video calls. Who offers that?
I do, and the first call is the setup call. We get the camera, the sound, and the link working together, and then we practice once so the real one is easy.
After a scam.
My mother in Key West got scammed on her computer. Who can clean it up and secure her accounts?
Her bank first, if any money or card details moved. Then me. We check the computer together, close every door they opened, and put the right locks back on. The steps are on the scam page.
Someone called my grandmother in the Keys pretending to be Microsoft. Who can check her computer afterward?
I will, and I will do it with her on the phone so she sees what we find. If anyone had control of her screen, shut the computer down and leave it off until we talk.
Who can help my parents in Key West keep their passwords and online accounts safe?
I can. We set up one place for the passwords, turn on the second check that stops a stranger who has the password, and go through what a real bank message looks like next to a fake one.
Part-year residents and storms.
Is there a remote computer help service for people who live in the Florida Keys only part of the year?
Yes, and that is the point of remote. If you head north for the season, nothing changes. Same number, same person, same computer.
After a hurricane, who can get a home's internet, TV and computers working again in the Keys?
Once the power and the internet are back, I can. We bring the WiFi, the TV, and the computers back up one at a time on the phone, and I tell you plainly if something did not survive. Before the next storm, we back up what matters somewhere the water cannot reach.
Small businesses.
Who can help a small business in Key West with computer and email problems?
I do. You keep the business running. I keep the tech online and working properly. Call or email me and I will send over the business plans.
Who provides IT support for a vacation rental office in the Florida Keys?
I do, remotely, which suits an office that never really closes. Email, the booking computer, the printer, the WiFi the guests complain about. Ask me for the business plans and I will email them the same day.
